We live in a hyper-connected world, yet the reality of the digital divide remains an invisible barrier. In Vidigal, the vast majority of our children and youth access the internet exclusively through smartphone screens, without having a computer at home. Our Digital Inclusion project at SER Alzira de Aleluia exists to change this scenario and level the playing field. We transform our space into an environment of discovery, where they can sit in front of a monitor, master the keyboard and mouse, and understand that technology goes far beyond social media. Building this intimacy and fluency with computers from childhood is what will ensure they are not left behind, preparing them now for the demands and opportunities of the job market.

Project Objectives

  • Build Technological Familiarity: Provide practical and constant contact with computers, overcoming the limitations of exclusive smartphone use and ensuring true digital fluency.

  • Prepare for the Professional Future: Develop skills that are prerequisites in the job market—from typing and document creation to using design software, spreadsheets, and creation platforms.

  • Awaken New Vocations: Show students that they don't have to be just content consumers, but can also be creators—exploring everything from presentation design to the first steps in game development and programming.

  • Support the Educational Journey: Offer the right equipment and environment so our youth can conduct high-quality research, study, and access educational platforms with the comfort and efficiency that a cell phone cannot provide.
